What is underwriting?
Underwriting is a professionally produced, pre recorded on-air announcement on behalf of businesses, organizations or individuals that provides a specific level of financial support to WEVL. Underwriting can be used for a variety of purposes: increasing public awareness of a business or organization, announcing events, honoring a loved one on a special occasion, and more.
Who hears underwriting?
WEVL’s broadcast range is approximately 50 miles, covering the Greater Memphis Metropolitan area, and reaching into East Arkansas, North Mississippi as well as West Tennessee. Our webcast reaches listeners worldwide. For nearly five decades, WEVL has established an audience as vibrant and diverse as its programming. Listeners consistently vote WEVL Memphis' Best Radio Station in the Memphis Flyer’s annual Best of Memphis poll.

HOW TO BEGIN?
All underwriting announcements must be reviewed and approved by the WEVL staff to insure compliance with FCC regulations governing nonprofit radio stations.
Proposed underwriting announcements must be submitted no less than seven days before the first announcement is to air.
The minimum underwriting contract is $600.
